The forecast remains on track for a significant warm-up today as an upper high will be over the region. Weak offshore flow will be in place as well, and that, plus the high, plus the sun angle this time of year will all combine to make this the warmest day of 2025 to date. The heat will be more pronounced further inland, with highs in the 80s and even a few low 90s possible in the warmest Ventura County valleys. Warm temperatures will be more moderate near the coast, where an ocean temperature in the 50s will keep a lid on temperatures.
The heat won’t last, though. A series of low-pressure systems moves through the western US this week, quickly bringing temperatures back down below normal by Wednesday. Increased onshore flow will also help promote the development of morning marine layer clouds and fog near the coast as well.
