First Look Forecast – Sun 3/16

Another mild day ahead under partial sunshine, with varying amounts of high clouds streaming in from the west.  Not much change in temperatures here near the coast, but areas further inland should see several degrees of warming today.

Tomorrow, a dying cold front associated with a low passing to the north will sweep across the area.  I expect the front to lose most of its punch before it makes it to Ventura County.  The NWS forecast calls for a 20%-30% chance of rain Monday afternoon, with only trace amounts accumulating.  If anything, I expect we’ll see a sunny day tomorrow with only an increase in clouds as the front passes, and maybe a sprinkle.

A warming and drying trend establishes on Tuesday as the storm track shifts back to the north.  High pressure builds in, and offshore flow strengthens.  We may see some gusty winds Tuesday and Wednesday before onshore flow returns on Thursday.
